Born in Leeds, Yorkshire. and lived at 21, Bedford Square, Hyson Green, Nottingham. Son of Mrs Harriet Green; Husband of Lavinia Frances Lakin (formerly Cooper), of 1, Forest Street, Hyson Green, Nottingham. He was a threader prior to enlisting on 23rd April 1914 at Nottingham. He went to France on 25th February 1915 and was killed in action, 1st August 1915, aged 25, whilst serving in the line at Sanctuary Wood, Belgium.
Commonwealth War Graves Commission show the name in Register and Headstone as Copper.
