Battalion: 2/7th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born at South Wingfield, Derbyshire. Son of George and Elizabeth Cooper, of Home Cottage, Birches Lane, Oakerthorpe, Alfreton, Derbyshire. He was a coal miner prior to enlisting at Alfreton. He was killed in action, 26th September 1917, aged 21, in the attack at Wieltje near Ypres, Belgium.
