Battalion: 2nd Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born in Cardiff, Wales. Son of William and Mary Cooper, of Sunbeam Villa, Westend, Coldicott, Monmouthshire. He was a railway engine cleaner prior to enlisting at Cardiff on 7th September 1914 and went to France on 15th November 1914. He was transferred to the 2nd Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment, 1st November 1917 and was killed in action, 23rd March 1918, in the German offensive near the Maricourt Road, France.
