Born in Manchester. Son of Mark and Frances Annie Cooper, of 19, Elm Road, Higher Crumpsall, Manchester; Husband of Margaret Cooper, of 143, Albert Edward Road, Liverpool. He was a postal sorting clerk prior to enlisting on 10th December 1915 at Liverpool. He went to France on 27th March 1918 and was transferred to the 7th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment, 29th March 1918. He was killed in action, 12th April 1918, aged 32, near Kemmel, Belgium.
