Private John Conlon

Battalion : 10th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born and lived at Coundon, County Durham. Son of James and Elizabeth Conlon, of 55 Wharton Street, Coundon. He enlisted at Bishop Auckland, County Durham and went to France 23rd December 1915 and was killed in action, 14th February 1916, during heavy German shellfire and the explosion of a German mine, prior to the German attack of the front line trenches, near the canal to the south-east of Ypres, Belgium.
