Born at Babbington, Derbyshire. and lived at 122 Green Lane, Derby. Son of James and Clara Ann Colquhoun, of 9, Wilmot Street, Derby. He was a clerk prior to enlisting on 27th April 1915 at Derby. He went to France on 6th March 1916 and suffered injuries to his legs on 3rd May 1917. He was transferred to England on Hospital Ship Pieter De Connick, on 15th May 1917. He returned to France on 28th July 1917 and suffered an injury to his heel, on 14th December 1917. He was transferred to England on Hospital Ship Brighton, on 17th December 1917. He returned to France on 3rd Mary 1918 and was killed in action, on 31st May 1918, aged 21, whilst in the line near Bouzincourt, France.
