Battalion : 17th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born At Willesden, Middlesex and lived at Burgess Hill, Sussex. Son of Thomas and Emily Esther Colman, of Burgess Hill, Sussex. He was an engineering student prior to enlisting at Chichester Sussex. He was killed in action, 8th October 1916, age 33, in the German attack on the British positions, near Thiepval, France during the Battle of the Somme.
