Born and lived at Swadlincote, Derbyshire. Nephew of Miss Ruth Lee, of 51, West Street, Swadlincote. He was a gas works clerk prior to enlisting at Burton on Trent, Staffordshire and was killed in action, 20th October 1917, whilst serving in the line near Boesinge, Belgium.

Buried/Commemorated : Bedford House Cemetery, Belgium. Enclosure No.4 Plot 15. Row B. Grave 35.
