Born and lived at New Whittington, Derbyshire. Son of Tomas and Margaret Collins, 52 High Street, New Whittington. He was a coal miner prior to enlisting at Derby. Died of wounds received in the attack near Bellewaarde Lake, Belgium, 31st July 1917, during the beginning of the 3rd Battle of Ypres.
