Born and lived at Norton, Sheffield, Yorkshire. Son of Joshua and Helena Collier of 106 Harveyclough Road, Norton, Sheffield. He enlisted 11th October 1915 at Sheffield. and went to France 26th February 1917. He was killed in action, 5th July 1917, whilst in the line at Villers-Plouich, France.
