Son of Adolphe Auguste and Emily Collier, of 138, Radcliffe Road, West Bridgford, Nottinghamshire. He was a lace designer prior to enlisting at Nottingham. He went to France on 28th June 1915 and was killed in action, on 1st July 1916, aged 21, in the attack on the German positions at Gommecourt, France, on the first day of the Battle of the Somme.
