Private Reuben Coles

Battalion : 10th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.
He was born at Normanton, Derbyshire. Son of Ernest and Georgina Coles, of 15, Hampden Street, Derby. He was a gardener at Derby arboretum prior to enlisting at Derby. He went to France 14th July 1915 and was killed in action, 14th February 1916, aged 21, during heavy German shellfire and the explosion of a German mine, prior to the German attack of the front line trenches, near the canal to the south-east of Ypres, Belgium.
