Born and lived at Ashbourne, Derbyshire. Son of Charles and Ellen Colclough, of Wells Yard, Ashbourne. Husband of Hannah Colclough. He enlisted at Derby and served in Gallipoli during 1915. He was killed in action, 15th September 1916, aged 31, whilst serving in the line south of Thiepval, France during the Battle of the Somme.

Buried : Ovillers Military Cemetery, France. Plot 1, Row C, Grave 18.
