Born at Turnham Green, London. Son of Harry and Emily Cockrell, of Ipswich; Husband of Marjorie Cockrell, of 22, Pennard Mansions, Shepherds Bush, London. He was an iron mongers assistant prior to enlisting at London. He was later transferred to the 10th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment and was killed in action, 15th September 1917, aged 35.
