Lance Corporal John William Cocking

Battalion : 3rd Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.
Born at South Anston, Yorkshire. Son of James and Annie Cocking; Husband of Leslie Cocking, of Nethermoor Lane, Killamarsh, Sheffield. He was a coal miner prior to enlisting at Worksop, Nottingham. He went to France 18th March 1915 with the 1st Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment. He died of sickness 5th July 1918, aged 25.
Buried : South Anston (St. James) Churchyard, Yorkshire, United Kingdom. South Part.
