Sergeant Ellis Cockett

Battalion: 11th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.
Born and lived at Grassmoor, Derbyshire. Son of Thomas and Mary Ellen Cockett, of 12 New Street, Grassmoor. He was a colliery labourer prior to enlisting at Chesterfield. He was killed in action, on 7th June 1917, in the attack at Hill 60 near Ypres, Belgium on the first day of the Battle of Messines.
