Born and lived at Derby. Son of Joseph and Elizabeth Cocker, of 44, Erasmus Street, Derby. He was a tinsmith’s assistant in the Way and Works Department of Midland Railway at Derby. He enlisted at Derby and served in Dublin during the Irish Rebellion of 1916. He went to France and was killed in action, 4th April, during an attack at Le Verguier, France.
