Battalion : 15th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born and lived at Nottingham. Husband of Elizabeth Cockayne, of 9 Lower Place, Leenside, Nottingham. He enlisted at Nottingham and went to France 8th September 1914 with the 2nd Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment. He was later transferred to the 15th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment, and was killed in action, 14th October 1918, in teh attack near Cable Copse, near Ypres, Belgium.
