Private Joseph Cockayne

Battalion : 2nd Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.
Born at Ilkeston, Derbyshire. Son of Joseph and Eliza Osborn Cockayne, of 45, Kett Street, Bulwell, Nottingham. He was a flower pot wedger prior to enlisting 31st August, 1914 at Nottingham. He went to France 29th June 1915 and was killed in action, 9th August 1915, in the attack at Sanctuary Wood, near Yores, Belgium.
Died : 9th August 1915.
