Born and lived at Tutbury, Staffordshire. Son of Mary Elizabeth Aldridge, of 3 Craven Street, Burton-upon-Trent, Staffordshire. He enlisted on 21st May 1915 at Derby and went to France on 13th March 1916 and was killed in action, on 1st July 1916, aged 20, in the attack on the German positions at Gommecourt, France, on the first day of the Battle of the Somme.
