Born and lived at Hooton Pagnell, Yorkshire. Son of John Parkin and Emma Moorehouse Coates. He was a farm labourer prior to enlisting 11th December 1915 at South Elmsall, Yorkshire. He died, 21st April 1917, of pneumonia at the Royal Military Hospital, Sunderland.
