Born 30th April 1895 at Derby. Son of Frederick William and Annie Maria Clulow, of 23, Overdale Road, Derby. He was a civil service clerk prior to enlisting in London. He gained a commission into the 3rd Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment and went to France January 1918 joining the 1st Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment. He died of wounds, 25th April 1918, aged 23, at 5 Casualty Clearing Station, of wounds, received in action at Villers Bretonneaux, France.
