Private William Thorneycroft Clowes

Born and lived at Morley, Derbyshire. Son of Caleb and Rosa Clowes, of Lime Farm, Morley, Derbyshire. He was a farm stockman and horseman prior to enlisting 23rd May 1918 at Derby. He went tot France with the 15th Battalion : 3rd Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment, 23rd September 1918 and was posted to the 2nd Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment, 26th September 1918. He died of heart failure 9th October 1918, and shock, resulting from wounds received in action.
Died : 9th October 1918.
Buried : St. Sever Cemetery Extension, Rouen, France. S. 2. N. 6.
