Lance Corporal Richard Clifford

Battalion : 15th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born and lived at Wolverhampton. Son of Richard and Martha Clifford, of 15, Junction Street, Springfields, Wolverhampton; Husband of Sofia Clifford. He was an electrical engineer prior to enlisting at Wolverhampton. Killed in action, 30th July 1916, whilst serving in the line (Minden Post) near Talus Bois, France during the Battle of the Somme.

Commemorated : Thiepval Memorial, France. Pier and Face 10 C 10 D and 11 A.
