Born and lived at Nottingham. Son of John and Elizabeth Clifford, of 81, Ilkeston Road, Nottingham; Husband of Flossie Clifford, of 152 Harrington Drive, Lenton, Nottingham. He was a letter press printer prior to enlisting 9th December 1915 at Nottingham. He went to France 26th February 1917 and died of pneumonia 26th June 1918, aged 36, whilst a prisoner of war.
