Son of Mr Harry Ernest and Jane Eliza Cleveland, of 87, Gillott Road, Edgbaston, Birmingham. He was a Clerk prior to enlisting. He was commissioned Second Lieutenant Sherwood Foresters on 21st January 1916 and was attached to the 8th Battalion York and Lancs Regiment. He died on 31st July 1916.
