Born at Bermondsey, London and lived at Chesterfield, Derbyshire. Son of Harry and Emily Clements, of 2, Rothervale Road, Derby Road, Chesterfield. He was a labourer prior to enlisting 21st October 1914 at Chesterfield. He went to France 28th February 1915 and was killed in action, 16th April 1915, aged 19, whilst serving in the line at Kemmel, Belgium.
