Born in Doncaster, Yorkshire and lived at Derby. Son of Charles Miller and Christina Clayton of 43, Haddon Street, Derby. He was a coach finishes boy in the wagon and carriage department of Midland Railway Derby prior to enlisting at Derby. He died as a prisoner of war, 24th March 1918, aged 20, after the German attack in the Favreuil and Vux Vraucourt area.
