Born and lived at Long Eaton, Derbyshire. Son of Reuben and Sarah Clarke, of 12 Shepherd Cottage, Station Road, Long Eaton. He was an errand boy prior to enlisting at Long Eaton, went to France 25th February 1915 and died, 17th February 1917, at No. 20 Casualty Clearing Station, Warlincourt, France.
