Born and lived in Leeds, Yorkshire. Son of Frank Percival and Matilda Lucy Clarke, of 36 Simpson Street, Armley, Leeds. Husband of Alice Clarke, of 260, Meanwood Road, Leeds. He was a warehouseman prior to enlisting on 25th February 1915 at Leeds. He went to France on 9th November 1915 and was later transferred to the 16th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment. He was killed in action, 5th August 1917, aged 32, whilst serving in the trenches at St. Julian, Belgium.
