Born and lived in Nottingham. Son of George and Harriett Clarke, 10 Eugene Street, Meadows, Nottingham. He was a threader prior to enlisting at Nottingham. He went to France on 28th June 1915 and died of dysentery whilst a prisoner of war on 5th August 1918.
