Private Benjamin Clarke

Battalion : 10th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.
Born and lived at Ilkeston, Derbyshire. Son of George Joseph and Mary Clarke, of 147, Park Road, Ilkeston. He enlisted at Derby and went to France 14th July 1916 and was killed in action, 14th February 1916, aged 23, during heavy German shellfire and the explosion of a German mine, prior to the German attack of the front line trenches, near the canal to the south-east of Ypres, Belgium.
