Born and lived in Sheffield, Yorkshire. Son of Francis and Elizabeth Clark, of Whirlow, Parkhead, Sheffield; Husband of Ada M. Clark, of Greenberry Farm, Langton-On-Swale, Northallerton, Yorkshire. He enlisted at Chesterfield and went to France on 29th August 1915 and was killed in action, 26th September 1915, age 23, whilst serving in the line near Le Rutoire, France, during the Battle of Loos.
