Born and lived at Newbold, Chesterfield. Son of William Robert and Hannah Clark, 108 St. John’s Road, Newbold, Derbyshire. Husband of Mrs. Annie Clark, of 88, West Road, Westcliff-On-Sea, Southend. He was a school teacher prior to enlisting at Chesterfield. He was killed in action, 20th September 1917, aged 33, during the attack on Bulgar Wood, Belgium.
