Private Charles William Clark

Battalion : 16th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.
Born at Wandsworth, Surrey. Son of Daniel and Louisa Elizabeth Clark, of 79, Ashen Grove, Wimbledon Park, London. He was a carpenter and joiner prior to enlisting on 12th December 1915 at Wandsworth. He went to France on 20th November 1916 and was transferred to the 16th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment, 24th September 1917. He was killed in action, 18th November 1917, age 35, whilst serving in the trenches near Polderhoek, Belgium.
