Born and lived at Mansfield., Nottinghamshire. Son of James and Ellen Clark, of 69, Union Street, Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. He was a coal miner and Langwith Colliery, Nottinghamshire prior to enlisting at Mansfield. He went to France on 29th July 1915 and died of wounds on 22nd October 1917, aged 21.
