Born and lived at Herne, Kent. Son of Henry William and Ann Maria Christian of Herne Common. He was a golf caddy prior to enlisting at Chestfield, Kent. He was killed in action, 21st March 1918, whilst holding the line near Noreuil, France on the opening day of the German Spring Offensive or (Kaiserschlact)
