He was a clerk prior to enlisting on 29th May 1916 at St. Pancras, London. He went to France on 10th May 1917 and was killed in action, 21st March 1918, aged 19, whilst holding the line near Noreuil, France on the opening day of the German Spring Offensive or (Kaiserschlact)
