Born at Twickenham, Middlesex and lived at Wallington, Surrey. Son of Alfred and Ellen Child, of Fisherton Villa, Grosvenor Road, Twickenham, Middlesex. He enlisted at Hounslow, Middlesex. He was killed in action, 27th May 1918, aged 38, whilst the Battalion was ordered forward to the Aisne line. Then in retiring fight to Montagne de Guyencourt, France.
