Battalion : 1st Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born in Colchester, Essex and lived at 73 Grantham Road, Sleaford, Lincolnshire. Son of Arthur and Ada Cheshire, of 2 Ramsey Road, Brixton, London. He was a motor driver and fitter prior to enlisting on 5th July 1917 at Grantham, Lincolnshire. He went to France on 2nd April 1918 and was killed in action, 27th May 1918, whilst the Battalion was ordered forward to the Aisne line. Then in retiring fight to Montagne de Guyencourt, France.
