Born and lived at Tuxford, Nottinghamshire. Son of Ratcliffe and Sarah Frances Chatterton, of Newcastle Street, Tuxford. He was a grocer’s assistant prior to enlisting at Retford. He died of wounds on 25th September 1915, aged 20, received at Gallipoli.
Buried : Alexandria (Chatby) Military and War Memorial Cemetery, Egypt. Row D, Grave 181.
