Private Robert Charlton

Battalion : 2nd Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.
Son of James Sheppard and Elizabeth Charlton, of “The Chestnuts”, Burley, Oakham, Rutland. He was an articled clerk prior to enlisting at Nottingham. He went to France 26th January 1915 and was killed in action, 9th August 1915, age 19, in the attack at Sanctuary Wood, Belgium.
