Born at Powick, Worcestershire. Son of Richard and Elizabeth Charles, of 110 Beauchamp Lane, Powick. He was a general labourer prior to enlisting at Eckington, Worcestershire. He was killed in action 27th May 1917, by German shelling with Minenwerfer of the British position near Turco Farm, Belgium.
