British 15 Star, British War and Victory Medal

Born at Allentown, Derbyshire. Son of John and Martha Chapman of 6, Poole Street, Allentown. Husband of Jane Chapman, of 30, Harrington Street, Allentown, Derby. He was an iron works labourer prior to enlisting at Derby. He went to France 20th August 1915 and was killed in action, 13th September 1916, aged 35, in the attack on the German positions at Arrow Head Copse, near Guillemont, France during the Battle of the Somme.
