Born at Nottingham. Son of William and Elizabeth Chapman ; Husband of Ethel Emily Dilks (formerly Chapman), of 3, Lewes Square, Rancliffe Street, Nottingham. He enlisted at Nottingham and was killed in action, 3rd March 1916, age 38, in the attack near the Ypres. Commines Canal, Belgium.
