Born and lived at Stamford. Son of Charles and Sarah Chapman, of 5, White Swan Yard, Scotgate, Stamford. He was an errand boy prior to enlisting at Derby. He went to France on 14th July 1915 and died at Sunderland War Hospital on 9th February 1918, aged 23.

Buried : Stamford Cemetery, United Kingdom. Plot A. Row C. Grave 15.
