Battalion : 10th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born and lived at Rowledge, Surrey. Son of Daniel and Elizabeth Chandler, of 2, Kiln Cottages, Rowledge, Farnham, Surrey. He was a labourer and carter on a farm prior to enlisting at Derby. He went to France on 14th July 1915 aand was killed in action, 14th February 1916, during heavy German shellfire and the explosion of a German mine, prior to the German attack of the front line trenches, near the canal to the south-east of Ypres, Belgium.
