Corporal George William Chadwick

Battalion: 1/6th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.
Born at Bakewell, Derbyshire and lived at 170 Moss Lane, East Moss Side, Manchester. Son of George Isaac and Sarah Chadwick, of Lunford Cottages, Bakewell, Derbyshire. He was an electric plate former prior to enlisting on 9th October 1914 at Bakewell. He went to France on 26th June 1915 and was appointed Lance Corporal, on 29th June 1916. He was promoted to Corporal, on 3rd August 1916 and was killed in action, on 1st July 1917, in the attack to the west of Lens, France.
