Private Henry Cawthorne

Battalion: 2nd Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.
Born at Whittington, Derbyshire. Son of Frederick and Rebecca Cawthorne, of Long Row, Clay Cross, Derbyshire. He was a coal miner prior to enlisting on 23rd August 1914 at Clay Cross. He went to France on 26th January 1915 and was killed in action, 9th August 1915, age 21, in the attack on the German positions at Sanctuary Wood, Belgium.
