Born at Enfield, Middlesex. Son of Frederick and Mary Cathie, of 45, Lea Road, Enfield. He was a general labourer prior to enlisting on 5th September 1910 at Bedford. He went to France on 4th November 1914 and was wounded at the Battle of Neuve Chapelle on 11th March 1915 and died of these wounds at No. 25 Field Ambulance 14th March 1915.
